Community Schools Theater and Arts Presents: When Life Gives You Lemons!
Starting our 2025 season on a sweet and sub-lime note is a CSTA original production following a group of friends who run a lemonade stand. Until one day a rival lemon business comes to town. Will they work together? or try to squeeze out the competition.

Auditions are open to youth aged 8 - 10 on January 17th from 3pm - 7pm and January 18th from 10am to 5pm.
Audition Requirements:
Song: Prepare a song with a backing track between 45 seconds and 2 minutes long. Edits to your music are acceptable.
Monologues: Monologues will be available online and at the audition location. Learning them beforehand is welcome but not mandatory. You may not be asked to perform all monologues. View the audition monologues and audition rubric below.
Callbacks:
The cast list will be posted on the Facebook Page after callbacks.
Only those invited will be notified about attending callbacks.
Callbacks will take place on the Wednesday after auditions from 5pm to 8pm (unless noted otherwise)
Onboarding Session:
An onboarding session is mandatory for all participants and will take place on January 25th from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM.
Parental/Guardian Attendance:
For participants under the age of 18, a parent, guardian, or responsible adult must attend the onboarding session. Failure to do so will result in ineligibility for the program.
Character List for When Life Gives You Lemons
Julius: A calculated and awkward Citrus Philosopher with a penchant for rhyming and storytelling. Julius serves as a narrator, guiding the audience through the story and teaching valuable lessons about kindness and cooperation.
Lemona: A witty and emotional Citrus Philosopher who loves to crack jokes and work alongside Julius to educate young minds. Lemona's bubbly personality and quick wit add a touch of humor and lightheartedness to the story.
Clement(ine): A headstrong but well-meaning kid who finds a new home at Lulu's lemonade stand. Clement(ine)'s journey of personal growth highlights the importance of teamwork and overcoming challenges.
Lulu: A strong and compassionate friend who owns Lulu's lemonade stand. Lulu's belief in the power of friendship and her positive outlook inspire those around her.
Pucker: A quiet but quirky friend working at Lulu's lemonade stand. Pucker's unique communication style, using lip smacks, adds a touch of mystery and intrigue.
Zippy: A hyperactive and energetic friend who works at Lulu's lemonade stand. Zippy's enthusiasm and tendency to state the obvious provides comic relief and keeps the story moving forward.
LJ: A cold and calculating character who leads the rival lemonade stand. LJ's competitive nature and strategic thinking create a compelling antagonist.
Zest: A sassy and rude character who serves as LJ's right-hand. Zest's sharp tongue and negative attitude provide contrast to the positive energy of Lulu's group.
Sour Sam and Sweet Sandy: A pair of goofy twins who work at LJ's lemonade stand. Their contrasting personalities and comedic antics add a touch of humor to the story.
Customers (Ensemble): A group of customers who buy lemonade and watch the rivalry unfold, adding to the lively atmosphere of the story.
