Bringing the CRSE Framework to Life through Our Local History in Wayne County
Enslavement and Migrant Worker Activism (AM Session)
On the morning of April 24, 2025, the CCSI Our Local History Team will lead a 2.5-hour workshop on enslavement and migrant worker activism in New York State, allowing educators to experience Days 1-2 of an inquiry-based learning unit aligned with the NYS Social Studies Framework, NYS SEL Benchmarks, CASEL 3 Signature Practices, and the NYS Culturally Responsive Framework. Kicking off with a warm welcome, the session will begin with a "Zoom In, Zoom Out" activity that encourages participants to challenge assumptions about Africa through Geographic Reasoning and rich, diverse images of the continent.
